Fazenda Lagoinha began when two Cariocas and two Mineiros united their passion for coffee and started producing high-quality specialty coffees.
The farm is 100% self-sustainable energetically, uses the soil consciously and aims to plant a minimum of 15 fruit and native trees. Since Matheus Avelar took over in 2019, the property recovered four dams that were dried through water containment boxes and adhered to bee pollination.
All the care for the farm’s employees, partners, soil, and each coffee tree is reflected in the harvest and the fruits produced. In its first year of harvest, the coffees scored from 82 to 91 points.
Fazenda Lagoinha’s dream was to reach tables of Brazilian families, coffee shops, and cafeterias, but through the UPC x Minasul Europe project, their coffee has broken barriers and impressed buyers in different parts of the world.
