Juliana Calil came from a coffee-producing family but, due to an extremely patriarchal culture, was never allowed to participate in the family business. Therefore, she has always performed in the administrative area, working for 25 years in a supermarket.
With the death of her father and, a few years later her brother, Juliana takes over the farm in 2018, without any experience and knowledge about coffee growing.
Juliana has been studying a lot ever since, seeking to improve knowledge, coffee quality, physical structure, equipment, and expanding the conditions of the farm, as well as the well-being of employees and their families.
Fazenda Calil is committed to respectfully taking care of coffee plantations, developing an environmental project to raise awareness about ASF – Abelhas Sem Ferrão (Stingless Bees), and the expansion of native flora, in the mountains of Minas Gerais in Cambuquira.
